GLC-TV Live Broadcast

Next live broadcast: Sunday 21 June 2009 at 10:30am

Tune in to see Minister Honan Preach her latest sermon "Count the Cost"

Welcome

The Vision

Provide a Saturday Night Service that is geared towards people ages 16-29. Their music, their technology. Highly experiential and participatory. Very casual dress. The power of the Holy Spirit to touch them.

Roll out the red carpet to make them feel sincerely welcome with no strings attached.

Provide a coffee shop with wireless internet, gourmet desserts, café style furniture, big screen TV’s so they can have a social element in positive, yet non-threatening environment. We want them to see that Christians can have a great time without being preachy. We like to have fun too.

Want to Participate?

Help us create this new service. Right now. Today. We will listen to your input. Ask you questions. And implement the best of your ideas, even if you aren't a member of Glorious Life Church. Yet!

To the best of our knowledge, no one has ever done this before.

Sounds like fun doesn't it?

Generation Y!!!!

What is Generation Y? Generation Y is a WHO! It is the group of people between the ages of 16-29. I won’t bore you with a lot of statistics that you can find yourself, but I would like to share some of their characteristics with you. Research tells us that they are media savvy and technologically advanced. They question everything and everyone. Many of them are high performers but are more concerned with “what’s in it for them.” Personal relationships are not a strength for them but they have a… Continue

Are Christians Boring?

The Other Day

The other day I went to a movie with a group of Christian friends. Every week I do an activity with this group, a social group for 30-something Christians in Wichita, Kansas. Most of the time it's pretty fun but the other day, as I sat watching Goonies, a movie for young children, I thought:

"This is really boring."

A flood of other thoughts came to mind as agitation flashed… Continue

Websites - consolidation and purpose

Hey guys -We're sharpening our thinking about the GLC and Gen-Y web sites. This is the latest from a discussion between Dee and Matt on gmail -From the confusion I can definitely see that we need to simplify some things. That's okay, it's part of the "organic" process that we're going through. We actually do have a Gen Y site on Ning. I thought hard about whether to do two sites or one and decided to do two because it's two different groups of people: people who attend GLC, and people who…See More

I love pie! In fact that's 1/2 the reason I go to The Riverside Perk. Other reason: great outdoor seating. Should we have outdoor seating? BTW we've got people--who've got skills--to make at least some of our goodies! We'll pay…

Lighting the new service!

Today we met with David Neville, a lighting professor from Wichita State who also does lighting for Music Theatre Wichita. Talking to him I can see that this man is an artist!Though we are greatly constrained by budget, David showed us how we can add some dramatic effects to the realitY service. We want to underscore the music and sermons with bold bright lights. And maybe add some additional lights for visual interest and to support our Drama Team.By the way one of our major needs right now is…See More
